A Day in Paradise: Surfing and Shooting in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is a dream destination for surfers and adventurers alike. In this blog post, we take you through a day filled with surfing, shooting content for a jewelry brand, and exploring the beautiful beaches of the island. Join us as we share our experiences and the stunning sights we encountered along the way.

Key Takeaways

  • Location: South shores of Sri Lanka, particularly Nikadua and Hiku Beach.
  • Activities: Surfing, shooting content for a jewelry collection, and enjoying local cuisine.
  • Experience: A mix of work and play, showcasing the beauty of Sri Lanka.

Morning Adventures

The day started bright and early in Sri Lanka. We were excited to kick off our first shoot on the island. After a quick breakfast, we hopped into a tuk-tuk for a 30-minute drive to our first location. The vibe was electric, especially with Valentine’s Day around the corner. We were ready to capture some stunning shots for our new collection.

Shooting at the Beach

Once we arrived at the beach, we set up for the shoot. The sun was shining, and the waves were calling. We had a model, Lara, who was ready to rock the beach with our jewelry. The first part of the shoot went smoothly, and we were all pumped to get some great footage.

  • Location: G Beach
  • Model: Lara West
  • Goal: Capture Valentine’s Day ads

After wrapping up the shoot, we took a break for lunch. The local food was delicious, and it gave us the energy we needed for the next part of the day.

Surfing at Hiku Beach

After lunch, we headed to Hiku Beach, which we had been told was the best spot for surfing that week. The waves looked promising, and I was eager to hit the water. I’ve only caught one barrel in my life, but I was feeling lucky today.

  • Wave Conditions: Good size, perfect for surfing
  • Personal Goal: Catch a barrel

As I paddled out, I felt the adrenaline rush. The waves were bigger than I expected, but I managed to catch a few. It was exhilarating! I even thought I might faceplant a couple of times, but I held my own. Surfing in Sri Lanka is definitely a highlight of this trip.

Testing the Jewelry

One of the questions we often get is whether our necklaces can withstand the surf. So, we decided to put that to the test. I wore one of our necklaces while surfing, and I’m happy to report that it stayed on through some pretty intense waves.

  • Necklace Durability: Surf-proof and waterproof
  • Test Result: Necklace remained intact during surfing

Wrapping Up the Day

As the sun began to set, we wrapped up our day. We had a blast surfing, shooting content, and just enjoying the beautiful scenery. It’s been a week since we arrived in Sri Lanka, and we still have so much more to explore and share.

Dinner was next on the agenda, and we were ready to refuel after an action-packed day. This trip has been a perfect blend of work and play, and we can’t wait to show you more of our adventures.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue our journey in this tropical paradise!
