How we make a piece built for salt water

Royale Merchant coin necklace on braided leather

Every Royale Merchant piece starts with one question: will it hold up in the ocean? The coin, the braided leather it hangs on and the pearl at the knot are each chosen so the answer is yes.

Stainless steel

Our coins and pendants are made from stainless steel. It is waterproof and tarnish-resistant, so you can wear it in the ocean and in the shower without taking it off. Each design starts as a 3D model and a mold, then every piece is handcrafted from there. Our gold-tone pieces are 18k or 24k gold plated, and each product page lists its exact materials.

Braided leather

The cord is braided leather, cut and knotted by hand. It softens and darkens as you wear it, the way good leather is meant to age.

Premium black pearl

Most of our necklaces carry a premium black pearl at the knot, set above an adjustable clasp so the length fits you.

Handcrafted

Every piece is handcrafted and checked before it ships to you.

Mercader real
